Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

Among Stars (chryse.co.uk) is a personal astrophotography site. It has no user accounts, no comment forms, no newsletter, and no contact forms — the site itself never asks you for, or stores, any personal information. This page explains the small amount of data processing that does happen when you visit.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log standard technical information about visits — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security and operational purposes. That logging is governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display adverts. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, which may be personalised based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Where required by law (for example under GDPR in the UK and EEA), consent is requested before personalised ads are shown.

Fonts

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches a font, your IP address is sent to Google as part of that request. Google states that font requests are not used for profiling; details are in the Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Local storage

If you switch between the light and dark theme, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. This value never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics

The site runs no analytics or tracking scripts of its own.

Posts and photo pages may link to other websites. This policy covers only chryse.co.uk — external sites have their own privacy practices.

Changes and contact

Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Questions about it can be raised via GitHub.
